AI Party

Here it comes, a long-awaited blog post on how AI can revolutionise the field of consumer psychology. Change isn’t just coming; it’s already here. The uncertainty of global challenges, artificial intelligence, and job saturation can all feel overwhelming. But there’s room for rebels like us who still dare to make a difference.

Throughout my masterclasses, there's always someone who asks how I think AI will affect the market. I firmly believe that AI is reshaping the workforce landscape, and I am hopeful about this change. If you’ve been keeping your brilliance under wraps, it’s time to step up. I’ve navigated these waters—from designing dodgy slot machines to empowering healthcare professionals. I’m not special; I just cracked the code on understanding behaviours better than most.

How will it affect the way we work, and are all our jobs in danger? First, I believe AI is perfect for desktop research. Imagine the time you could save. AI can assist by analysing vast amounts of data quickly and identifying patterns that might not be immediately obvious to humans. However, the human element—understanding the nuances of conversations and the emotions involved—remains crucial.

Consumer psychology and behavioural design are all about understanding the "why" behind human actions—the reasoning behind their behaviour. For now, we are safe, and hopefully for the next 20 years, that’s my assumption. Why do I say that? Because understanding the "why" involves having genuine conversations with fellow human beings, where they open up about their goals, the meaning behind their actions, and much more.

While AI can potentially have conversations, there are still underlying cues about the emotions a person bears during these conversations that we automatically analyse without realising it. Will AI be able to do that? Perhaps, but for now, your ability to conduct interviews to understand how your customer thinks and how to best serve them is the strongest talent you can equip yourself with.

Now What drive them is here to equip you with simple yet transformative tools and techniques. Embrace AI for what it does best, but hone your skills in genuine human interaction and understanding. This balance will make you indispensable in the evolving market. Go the extra mile to stand out.

Let’s build a better world together.
